The Virgin Bachelor


The year was 2019 - the year we were presented with a virgin Bachelor on ABC.

It's humorous how people in my generation, count how many people they've slept with. Don't worry, I'm not disclosing myself - I feverishly collected in my iPhone notes whoever I made out with in college. What's interesting is, looking back on it today, I've probably genuinely only been interested in sleeping with three out of the X amount of men I've had sex with. Even so, if the pressure weren't there, maybe I would have remained a virgin throughout college?

I'm not saying I wish I never lost my virginity or regret anything, because in all honesty I'm glad I got it over with. It's just bizarre to me that I had sex with people I didn't even have feelings for. Think of porn for god's sake! Do those people really like having sex that often? I don't get it.

Sex, at least for me, used to not be that grand. I just recently experienced what "great sex" was with my ex-boyfriend. I had never experimented with anyone before him and that was because I'd never been with someone I felt comfortable doing that with. I used to have the thoughts: Am I gross? Am I doing something wrong? The answer to those are obviously no, and if the answer to these questions would have been yes that would have been OK too!

Going back to Colton, he'd never had sex (I'm going to go ahead and assume he definitely has now). It was kind of cool in a way, and I can respect that.
